UWS Library provides advice, guidance and user education to support the University's research community to find good quality information quickly and use the information ethically in line with the Library's Information Literacy Framework.

We provide advice, guidance and user education to identify researchers’ information landscape with reference to the information literacy Vitae descriptors.

Using a variety of face-to-face and blended learning techniques (presentations, worksheets and podcasts) we also provide instruction and guidance on:

  • planning your search
  • where to look for information
  • search techniques for finding information quickly
  • evaluating information
  • managing and collating information
  • using information in an ethical manner
