A new Director of Fundraising and Alumni has been appointed by the University.
Nicola Smith, who takes up her post on 23 August, will lead the University’s strategic objectives, reporting to the Vice-Principal and Pro Vice-Chancellor Research, Innovation and Engagement, for the purposes of fundraising and alumni relations, with key responsibility for strengthening and diversifying the University’s portfolio of funding.
Principal and Vice-Chancellor Professor Craig Mahoney said: “I look forward to working alongside Nicola as she drives forward our engagement and range of activities in the important areas of alumni relations and fundraising.
“As outlined in our Strategy 2025, we have exciting and ambitious plans in relation to further enhancing our campuses, research activities, learning and teaching delivery and our global profile and reach. In support of our strategic objectives, Nicola’s extensive experience – garnered across the higher education, arts and charity sectors – will be invaluable, as she leads our portfolio of fundraising and alumni relations activities.”
Nicola joins UWS from Scottish Opera, where she held the post of Head of Donor Development, having previously worked at Guide Dogs for the Blind, University of Queensland and The Prince’s Trust.
