A fly-on-the wall documentary – produced by a University of the West of Scotland (UWS) lecturer – is to be one of the highlights of Channel 4’s festive schedule.
Billionaire Blooms, produced by Broadcast Production lecturer Dan Twist, offers a behind-the-scenes look at some of the most internationally celebrated florists, as they cater to the luxury end of the market.
It tells several festive-themed stories, including that of an internationally renowned florist planning an enormous Christmas display for an exclusive-London venue; a celebrity floral designer whose client wants their entire mansion decorated for 25 December; and two floristry newcomers, whose contemporary take on floristry is being deployed to create an installation at one of the world’s top 50 restaurants.
“Billionaire Blooms will offer an insight into a spectacular world of amazing design, discerning clients, meticulous planning, and engineering floral installations on an epic scale."

Dan, who teaches on Broadcast Production: TV and Radio at UWS, said: “Billionaire Blooms will offer an insight into a spectacular world of amazing design, discerning clients, meticulous planning, and engineering floral installations on an epic scale.
“I’m delighted that it will play such a prominent role in Channel 4’s festive schedule, and I am excited for viewers to enjoy a glimpse of this fascinating industry.”

Broadcast Production Programme Leader Paul Tucker added: “I’d like to congratulate Dan, and I look forward to watching his documentary over the festive period.
“Academics teaching on our course, and indeed in the wider UWS Creative Media Academy, are working industry professionals, producing high-quality content for the UK’s biggest media outlets.
“Their expertise and creativity is highly sought after, and plays no small part in our ability to produce work-ready graduates, who go on themselves to make a significant impact in their chosen industry.”
Billionaire Blooms will air at 7pm on Wednesday 29 December on Channel 4.
