Internationally renowned academics from across the world of business will share their expertise as part of a new series of exciting public lectures.
The Research Seminar Series is being launched by the Business School arm of the highly regarded School of Business and Creative Industries at University of the West of Scotland (UWS).
It will feature a curated selection of research presentations, discussions and developmental workshops, delivered by globally respected academics and practitioners.
The series – which is free to attend – will launch on Wednesday 25 August, with an online lecture from Professor Will Foster of Keele University Business School.
Professor Foster will draw from his rich career in the commercial sector prior to joining higher education, and his subsequent research, as he delves into the subject of leadership and culture.
“I am honoured to have been invited to be the first speaker for what is going to be a r"eally fascinating Research Seminar Series.

He said: “I am honoured to have been invited to be the first speaker for what is going to be a really fascinating Research Seminar Series.
“I have a passion for leadership and organisational culture so I’m very much looking forward to delivering my lecture, and to engaging with UWS staff, students and members of the public, albeit in a virtual environment.”
Dr Christian Harrison, convener of the Seminar Series, added: “I am absolutely delighted that we are able to kick-off our Seminar Series with an individual as renowned as Professor Foster.
“The events are free to attend and open to the public and, while they would be interesting to anyone, they will be particularly helpful to business owners, budding entrepreneurs, those working in business, and those interested in research.
“The subjects being discussed, however, will be of broader interest and will have wider appeal. They will also be topical, and particularly interesting and helpful in the context of the pandemic and our eventual recovery.”
Daniel Turner, Assistant Dean of the UWS School of Business and Creative industries, said: “The Seminar Series will highlight some of the world class research originating from the School, while also giving staff, students and members of the public the chance to hear from external speakers of the highest regard.
“This is yet another example of the importance we place not only on research at the University of the West of Scotland, but on sharing the practical benefits and the lessons learned with members of our wider community.”
The winding road of leadership and culture with Professor Will Foster will take place online at 1pm on Wednesday 25 August, and free tickets are available via Eventbrite.
