University of the West of Scotland’s Professional Graduate Diploma in Education (Secondary), which produces motivated, energetic and talented secondary school teachers, has a limited number of places remaining for August 2018 entry.
Multiple teaching qualifications are offered within this course including Art and Design; Biology with Science; Chemistry with Science; English; Mathematics; Modern Languages (French, German, Spanish); Physical Education; and Physics with Science.
It provides the formal teaching qualification for provisional registration with the General Teaching Council for Scotland (GTCS), preparing students for a career in secondary school teaching.
The course is carried out in partnership with schools in which students spend 18 weeks on placement. University-based study focuses on curriculum, methods of teaching and learning, and assessment, alongside theoretical and practical aspects of professional studies in education.
