Tomorrow’s engineers can apply for a £5,000 scholarship to support their studies on a selection of postgraduate programmes at University of the West of Scotland (UWS).
The Dr Les Hutchison Postgraduate Scholarship gives aspiring engineers the opportunity to develop academically and personally while learning on one of UWS’s esteemed postgraduate engineering programmes.
Each year, one successful applicant is awarded the £5,000 grant to support their studies. The Scholarship is open to individuals who have held Scottish residency for more than three years and will be studying on one of the University’s MSc programmes in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Project Management or Quality Management.

Professor Schaschke continued: “This annual Scholarship, which is being awarded for the first time to a postgraduate engineering student starting this September, will provide significant support to enhance academic, career and personal ambitions to become future research leaders in engineering.”
To apply for the Postgraduate Scholarship you have to have been accepted onto one of the qualifying courses. You are required to submit a 600-word narrative describing how the scholarship will support your academic, career and personal ambitions. Applications are open until Tuesday 1 September, and should be emailed to firstname.lastname@example.org.
