University of the West of Scotland’s (UWS) Lanarkshire campus is hosting an exciting open day with a festival flavour on Saturday 27 October, complete with live music from Lanarkshire band LaFontaines.
The University is encouraging potential students and interested members of the community to come along to the festival-themed event, which will give them the chance to immerse themselves in university life and discover all the amazing opportunities available to study at UWS.
Guests will have the opportunity to discover the future of learning at UWS Lanarkshire, Scotland’s brand new ultra-modern university campus as the flexible learning and teaching spaces will be on view to prospective students, showcasing some of the most modern university facilities in the UK.
The open day will include a programme of engaging talks, presentations and live demos by inspiring academics from a range of UWS’ schools.
There will also be action packed subject immersion zones and a student life zone with academics and current students on-hand to provide information and answer questions.
On the day, guests can also learn about the full range of fantastic practical placement and study abroad opportunities, as well as the various funding options and student support available.
Prospective students can enjoy spending time on the campus which is one of the UK’s greenest educational environments, powered by 100% renewable energy, and become familiar with the facilities including the state-of-the-art gym, health and fitness suite.
Dedicated social media stations will also be in place to give guests the chance to capture and share their UWS open day experience with fun photo opportunities.
Highlighting UWS’ commitment to supporting Scotland’s creative industries, visitors can round off their open day experience with a live musical set from LaFontaines.
Throughout the jam-packed event, guests will have the opportunity to learn more about the high-quality courses on offer at the Lanarkshire campus, which includes computing, engineering, science, social science and nursing.
We’re thoroughly looking forward to our Lanarkshire campus’ festival-themed open day and encourage as many people as possible to come along. We want to give prospective students a unique open day experience, and allow the University’s various schools to display their amazing work in an engaging way.
We hope the open day festival will give guests an exciting glimpse into life as a UWS student, and with demonstrations, tours, the chance to meet students and staff, and of course, live music, it’s an event not to be missed!
