UWS is Scotland’s leading university for its impact on reducing inequalities, according to a global higher education league table.
The Times Higher Education (THE) Impact Rankings for 2021 measures universities’ success in delivering against the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDG), and has placed UWS as first in Scotland and fifth in the UK for SDG 10 – reducing inequalities.
These global Impact Rankings assess more than 1,100 universities worldwide, with UWS ranked in the 101-200 category. UWS also recorded an institutional score of 83.4 out of 100 for its efforts in meeting the goals set by the United Nations.
As well as its work to reduce inequality, UWS placed highly for Sustainable Development Goal number eight (decent work and economic growth), and scored well in areas such as partnerships, and good health and wellbeing
