World-leading & Internationally Excellent Health-related Research

UWS is the largest provider of nurse education in scotland and our staff make an immense contribution to increasing the health of the nation as well as improving health and wellbeing internationally.

We work jointly with a range of partners, both nationally and internationally, on our research interests, and this directly informs our health, nursing and midwifery teaching at UWS.

All of our academic staff are members of the School’s Institute of Healthcare Policy and Practice and 63% of our Allied Health Professions, Dentistry, Nursing and Pharmacy submission for the Research Excellence Framework in 2014 (REF2014) were judged to be world-leading / internationally excellent.
