CISCO CCNA 3: Scaling Networks

The CCNA 3 - Scaling Networks course prepares you for the following:

  • Configuring, verifying and troubleshooting VLANs spanning multiple switches: VTP, DTP and EtherChannel

Audience & Entry Requirements

This course is intended for anyone who desires a practical and technical introduction to the field of networking. You will configure, verify and troubleshoot VLAN switches, STP protocols and routers (IPv4/IPv6) and develop a detailed understanding of first hop redundancy protocols (HRSP) and dynamic routing protocols.

Job roles include headend technicians, network operations centre (NOC) staff, network engineers, network administrators, and network help-desk staff.

  • CCNA1: Introduction to Networks
  • CCNA2: Routing and Switching Essentials

or equivalent knowledge.

CCNA 3 comprises 10 modules delivered over 10 weeks, evening training sessions.

  • Module 4: Spanning Tree in Depth, STP, RST, MST, Portfast, Root Guard, UDLD
  • Module 5: Inter-Vlan Routing, SVIs, Layer 3 Etherchannel, DHCP
  • Module 6: First-Hop Redundancy, HSRP, VRRP, GLBP
  • Module 7: AAA, RADIUS, TACACS+, 802.1X, NTP, SNMP
  • Module 8: Switch technologies, SDM templates, UDLD, PoE, SPAN, RSPAN, IP SLA
  • Module 9: High Availability, Stackwise, VSS
  • Module 10: Campus Network Security, vulnerabilities, Port Security, Storm control, DHCP Snooping, IP source guard, Dynamic Arp Inspection, VLAN hopping, VLAN ACLs, Private Vlans
