Modules

Not only is the programme a great opportunity to explore all that Scotland has to offer, it also allows student to take home academic credit under the European Credit Transfer Scheme. Our modules are delivered by expert lecturers in our active learning suites, ensuring you receive the best learning experience.

All students will take part in a core 20-credit module, Enterprise Creation. There is then the option to select Online Interactions (10 credits) or Leadership and Management (10 credits). You’ll also have the opportunity to undertake an English Language Module which is non-credit bearing.

Enterprise Creation (core module, required)

Enterprise Creation aims to develop confident, enterprising and creative graduates who will be able to cope with the ever changing business environment, recognise opportunities and take responsibility and measured risks. This is a practical module designed to give you a unique and exciting opportunity to apply your underpinning business knowledge and skills such as leadership, collaboration, problem solving, creativity and innovation. The practical application enables you to reflect upon your personal development using the framework of a new business venture and there will be input and support throughout the module from enterprise experts and key partners within the enterprise network.

Online Interactions (option one)

The aim of the module is to provide an understanding of how online interactions and core content can have an influence on an organisations success.

The module will introduce different approaches to business and consumer online interactions using a wide range of content as the main vehicle. Students will also look at the tools which can be used to facilitate these interactions. On completion of the module, students should be able to select appropriate tools and be able to provide practical digital outputs. These outputs will allow students to demonstrate their skills in developing and managing content in an interactive and dynamic online environment. The module will also apply theoretical concepts to assess the strengths of a company’s online interactions.

Effective Leadership (option two)

Effective leadership and management is acknowledged to be essential to organisation effectiveness and success. This module will introduce students to the concepts of leadership and management and help them to develop their understanding of the role of these skills within a variety of workplaces. The key roles and tasks of leaders and managers will be examined together with the design of leadership and management interventions. Students will start their own journey towards developing these skills for themselves and will gain an understanding of how they can continue to develop their own leadership and management styles throughout their university studies and beyond.

The timetable is structured to give you the freedom to explore more of Scotland and the UK. We’ll also provide opportunities to go on excursions to places like Edinburgh and some fun social activities throughout the six weeks.

The EU Summer School includes all tuition fees, accommodation and additional social activities for a cost of £1500. We’re offering a 10% early bird discount for bookings made before the 23rd of February 2018.
