Applying through Clearing

I’ve been offered a place through Clearing. When will I receive a confirmation email?

You will receive an update on UCAS Track on the day the offer is made. You will then receive the UWS confirmation email the following day.

I’ve applied through Clearing on UCAS but have heard nothing. What should I do?

Log into UCAS Track and check that you have added the course and institution details to your Clearing application.

Please note that some updates occur overnight, so please allow 24 hours for your application to be processed.

Is there an Open Day for Clearing applicants?

Yes. The Clearing Drop-in Sessions at our Paisley Campus and new Lanarkshire Campus on Wednesday 8th and Wednesday 15th August from 2 – 7pm.

Our Student Recruitment Team and Ambassadors will be on hand to give you advice, and let you know more about your potential study options. More details on how to register for either of these Drop-in Sessions will follow shortly.

What happens next?

I’ve received my confirmation email. What shall I do now?

You have 24 hours to confirm your offer through UCAS Track.

You’ll need to log onto your UCAS account to confirm this before the offer expires.

When will I find out about the Welcome and Induction, plus Enrolment?

After you have accepted your place to study at UWS, we will send all the necessary information you'll need, by email, including information about our Welcome and Induction programme.

Accommodation

When can I apply for accommodation?

Yes. Check out our Accommodation webpages if you are keen to get a space in the UWS Residences whilst studying at University.

What happens if I change my mind?

Can I change course?

Please contact our Applicant Enquiry Team on 0800 027 1000 or email UWSClearing@uws.ac.uk to find out if there is availability on an alternative programme. As demand is really high for places at this of year our programmes become full very quickly.

Can I defer?

If you are already UFA at UWS on a programme commencing in September 2018 you can request to defer your place until 2019 by emailing admissions@uws.ac.uk.

Please make sure to include your UCAS ID in your email, so that we can help you as quickly as possible.

I no longer wish to go to UWS, can I withdraw my application?

Yes. Call our Applicant Enquiry Team:

Funding

Is there funding available?

Can I still apply for a student loan?

Yes. You will need to call your relevant Student Finance organisation. Make sure that you have all paperwork and identification to hand as it will help speed up the process.
