Entry Requirements

What qualifications do you need?

GAs are available to current employees and new hires, and all applications are individually evaluated. If your qualifications aren't listed, various factors are considered, and alternative combinations of qualifications and experience are considered. Experienced applicants should also apply Accreditation of Prior Learning/Experiential Learning will be used to review application.

The GA will have entry points at Years 1, 2 and 3 of each academic year.

Entry qualifications for the Graduate Apprenticeship (GA) require residency in Scotland before starting, with both your residency and workplace located in Scotland.

 

  • Scottish Highers*: 
    • Standard Entry Requirements: BBBC (102 UCAS Tarrif points) including Maths and one Science subject
    • Minimum Entry Requirements: BBCC (96 UCAS Tarrif points) including Maths and one Science subject
  • A levels: CCC (96 UCAS Tariff points) including Maths and one science subject, plus GSCE English and one other science subject
  • Irish Leaving Certificate: H3 H3 H3 H4, plus OL Maths and English
  • Foundation Apprenticeship / Modern Apprenticeship / SQA HNC-D / BTEC Level 4-5 HNC-D: Level of entry and or credit awarded being subject to the content of the programme
  • Others: Applicants may also be considered with other academic, vocational or professional qualifications deemed to be equivalent to those above

All applicants should be in employment and be supported by their employer for the duration of their studies.

For Advanced Entry apprentices are required to have completed a relevant MA or have a minimum of 1 year of sector specific work experience at a level equivalent to the point of entry. Applicants with HNC and HND qualifications will also be considered for advanced entry.

Applicants may also be considered with other academic, vocational or professional qualifications deemed to be equivalent.

Applicants can apply for admission based on Accreditation of Prior Learning / Accreditation of Prior Experiential Learning in accordance with the University’s RPL guidelines. Contact us for more information.
