A specialist MBA with Risk Management will develop your personal capabilities, skills and knowledge in decision making theory and provide the tools that might be used to aid decision making and problem solving applied to risk, crisis, and resilience.
You will develop holistic thinking skills with systems thinking at its core applied to risk management. You will learn how to apply to theories, tools, and techniques in decision analysis, risk and resilience management to complex organisational systems.
Applying decision making approaches is key to today’s managers as it enables analysing risks from multiple perspectives and gaining insights into complex relationships to developing organisational resilience.
This pathway will be of key interest to anyone in a leadership position and essential to anyone directly involved in managing compliance, strategic and operational risk.
Businesses and organisations require to be more resilient than ever before to cope with natural and human initiated risks in today’s global environment. This requires leaders and managers that have the knowledge, skills, and ability to create the systems and teams to ensure organisations are resilient.
This MBA is designed specifically for graduates who have already taken their first steps in their business career, who are ready to move into leadership roles with more responsibility.

Graduates of this programme have the potential to be offered some of the best employment opportunities, whether that is with SMEs or roles within international conglomerates such as Siemens, BAE Systems, the Virgin Group, Facebook, and Apple. The type of role that MBA graduates may be suited to depends on their prior experience and aptitude. Graduates with less experience might apply for first line manager positions like Office Manager or Assistant Manager, through to middle management positions such as department head or director. Those with more significant work experience may look for executive, or C-suite positions such as Chief Operations Officer (COO) or Chief Executive Officer (CEO).

In additional to IELTS, we also accept a number of alternative English language for application and admission to our courses for both home/EU and international students at bachelor's degree study at Year 3 (SCQF Level 9), and above. From Cambridge to TOFEL iBT qualifications the number of these qualifications is extensive.

The MBA Pathways program has a number of core modules, which will enable students to lead from within through innovation and creative thinking, shaping them into a leader for the ever-changing context of business. The modules are interdisciplinary in nature enabling students to critically demonstrate and understand the integration of key business functions enhancing their ability to design and deliver effective organisation wide strategies across sectors.

All students should apply directly to the University through our online application system. Before you apply, you should check that you meet our entry requirements and you should have all your supporting documents ready.
The first stage of the process is to complete the initial application form. You will then receive a follow-up email with further instructions relating to your application including documents that you will need to forward to support your application, e.g. degree transcripts and certificates etc.
Most courses don't have a formal closing date, but they will close when they are full; apply early to avoid disappointment. There may also be funding deadlines that apply to you.
The Academic Technology Approval Scheme (ATAS) applies to all international students and researchers (apart from exempt nationalities) who are subject to UK immigration control and are intending to study or research at postgraduate level in certain sensitive subjects.
Students and researchers who are nationals of EU countries, the European Economic Area (EEA), Australia, Canada, Japan, New Zealand, Singapore, South Korea, Switzerland or the United States of America do not need an ATAS certificate.
An ATAS certificate may be required for certain taught postgraduate master's degrees for international students at UWS.
