There is a fantastic selection of FREE online courses for all technicians in a wide range of subject disciplines, covering career development, technical teaching, project management and more!
The workshops usually last for around 1 hour and are a fantastic opportunity to gain practical skills, confidence in your capabilities and the chance to connect with technicians from across the sector. If you are interested in any of the courses, please sign up quickly - as places can be limited! Courses are offered at various points throughout the year, with the next being Springfest!

WinterFest is an online learning festival for technical professionals working in UK universities and research institutes taking place 12 – 24 January 2026.
Knowledge exchange programme
This is an excellent opportunity to receive funding from ITSS in order to receive training in specialised equipment, techniques or technical skills from other Universities/companies/Industry in the UK or abroad! This knowledge can then be shared at UWS. Please see link for details:
