Remote Monitor Wearable Medical Devices on Patient | UWS Business Partnership Consultancy Services

Private sector: remote monitor

Edinburgh-based SNAP40 designs wearable medical devices. UWS helped the firm develop a device to monitor respiratory rate, blood pressure, heart rate and skin temperature. The data is transmitted wirelessly to a software platform which detects patterns, automatically notifying healthcare staff of any issue.

With some universities there can be issues with IP, but with UWS this process was very straightforward

UWS Business Partnership with Loretto Care Providing Support | University of the West of Scotland

Third sector: Care coalition

A partnership between UWS and Loretto Care, an organisation which provides support to people in need across the west of Scotland, has helped build and sustain a world-class facility for people with alcohol-related brain damage. Loretto has been able to transfer much of UWS’s world-class academic research and knowledge to its own staff.

Loretto Care has enjoyed a positive relationship with UWS and takes great pleasure in this partnership
