The UWS Arts and Media Showcase is set to reach wider audiences than ever before this year, with events taking place across Ayr, Glasgow and Paisley throughout May.
For the first time, the 2026 programme will unfold across multiple venues over several weeks, giving the public more opportunities to experience the work of emerging creative talent from across UWS’s Arts and Media courses.
Running from Friday 8 to Thursday 21 May, the showcase will feature film screenings, live performances, exhibitions, live music, student broadcasts and awards, celebrating the creativity and ambition of students from across the University’s creative disciplines.
Among the highlights of this year’s programme are the BA (Hons) Graphic Arts and Moving Image Degree Show in Paisley from Friday 8 to Thursday 14 May, a Filmmaking and Screenwriting showcase at Glasgow Film Theatre on Monday 11 May, the Performance Showcase at UWS Ayr Campus on Wednesday 13 May, and the UWS Music Student Showcase and Awards at BAaD in Glasgow on Wednesday 20 May.
The programme will also include a special evening event celebrating 25 years of the University’s BA (Hons) Commercial Music degree on Wednesday 20 May as well as the UWS Broadcast Student Showcase in Ayr on 21 May.
Dr Clare Duffin, Lecturer and Programme Leader for MA Music at UWS, said: “This year’s Arts and Media Showcase is especially exciting because it gives us the chance to share our students’ work more widely across the west of Scotland.
“Running in Ayr, Glasgow and Paisley throughout May, the programme reflects both the range of creative practice at UWS and the depth of talent within our student community.
It’s particularly special this year because we get to celebrate 25 years of our BA (Hons) Commercial Music programme – a milestone that reflects the legacy and impact of music education at UWS.And what better way to recognise everything our students have achieved than to showcase the next generation of creative talent as they prepare to make their mark in the industry.
The annual showcase is a key moment in the academic calendar, offering students the opportunity to present their work to the public, family members, peers and industry guests, while marking the culmination of a year of creative development.
Members of the public are welcome to attend events across the programme.
