To make professional development more accessible, we are launching a new series of evening short courses at our Paisley campus.

The courses, which will launch later this month, include high demand classes in areas such as digital branding, leadership, and project management, and are designed for professionals and lifelong learners seeking to enhance their skillset.

Offered by the UWS Centre for Continuing Professional Development, the evening-delivery format ensures accessibility for a wide audience, from those pursuing further education to professionals looking to upskill in their current roles.

UWS is offering flexible, affordable learning options to support career growth and personal development. Participants have the opportunity to have their place fully funded, through our Skills Scholarships.

To enhance accessibility, UWS is offering Skills Scholarships that allow eligible applicants to undertake one CPD module from the evening course catalogue entirely free of charge.  To be eligible to apply, applicants must:

  • Have never studied at UWS before.
  • Be ordinarily resident in the UK, the Channel Islands, or the Isle of Man for the three years immediately before the relevant date, and
  • Have ‘settled status’ in the UK, and
  • Be ordinarily resident in Scotland on the relevant date.

UWS also offers an exclusive 20% discount to alumni who meet specific residence requirements and have previously studied at UWS or a predecessor institution.

Speaking of the importance of professional development, Head of Business Innovation at UWS, Johnny Mone said: “Our evening short courses are designed to fit around busy lives while providing high-quality, career-focused learning opportunities.

“With Skills Scholarships and alumni discounts, we’re committed to making professional development accessible to as many people as possible.

Don’t miss this opportunity to enhance your skills and invest in your future.

Johnny Mone, Head of Business Innovation at UWS.

For further information please visit https://cpd.uws.ac.uk/w/upcoming/cat-49-/  to view the complete list of evening courses and find detailed information about scholarships. If you have any questions about the courses or eligibility criteria, please contact cpd@uws.ac.uk.

These evening short courses align closely with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UNSDGs), particularly Goal 4: Quality Education and Goal 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth. By offering accessible, flexible learning opportunities and funding support, UWS is contributing to lifelong learning and skill development, empowering individuals to enhance their employability and support sustainable economic growth in Scotland.
