Service details
We work on an individual basis to get to know you first. We can meet you for an initial consultation to help us to decide the type of support best suited to you.
This session will take 45 minutes, and it will enable you and the consultant to get to know each other and decide whether it would be beneficial to work together.
It can take place online or as a face-to-face meeting. The consultant will give you an insight into what sport psychology support is and may ask you a variety of questions about your background, sport training and performance, experiences and life in general. Of course, there is the opportunity to ask questions and ensure the support is tailored to your needs.
Understanding yourself is crucial to effective sport psychology work, and exploring your needs can also give you a chance to reflect and increase your awareness regarding your experiences in sport.
After your initial consultation, you will be provided with a brief written report with further verbal feedback regarding the recommended approach to future psychological support.

Testimonials
Testimonial from a football youth academy coach.
Hayley sits at the top of her field in both sports coaching & psychology. Being able to tap into both Hayley’s practical experiences and academic knowledge in these fields has given myself and staff an opportunity to grow our own professional environment and implement knowledge that has been exchanged.
Testimonial from an international track and field athlete.
I worked with Hayley in the lead up to the Olympic British Trials. It was an extremely stressful time in my career and Hayley made a real impact on my season helping me to a new personal best and without her guidance, I’m certain this wouldn’t have been possible. I recommend her highly as a psychologist and a sports professional.
Together with Hayley I worked on strategies to help me both control my thoughts and emotions on competition day but also try lock into that fired up state during training. Specifically, we worked on grounding myself in the moment and increasing my positivity in regards to my training and competition opportunities.

Testimonial
Testimonial from an international level sports scholar
I knew Hayley from my time as a student at the University of the West of Scotland and where Hayley offered her support as a sport psychology practitioner to me on the scholarship programme. During this time, we worked together, where we would arrange regular confidential sessions. These sessions allowed me to open up about how being an athlete, student and young man and how this affected my life while dealing with the barriers I faced. Hayley and I engaged in discussions and came up with some psychological strategies to deal with some of these barriers. I am very grateful for Hayley’s support during this time.
Hayley’s area of expertise is her ability to listen to a great depth of information provided to her from my input to the sessions, and then to efficiently reflect on our entire discussions to be able to fully understand everything involved. I believe that is a unique skill to have, and her services are extremely valuable in her position.
