Apply through Clearing

Clearing is a process that helps students find and apply for university courses that still have vacancies after the main application deadlines have passed.

You can apply through Clearing if: 

• You’re applying after the end of June 
• You have not received any offers 
• You have declined all your offers 
• You did not meet the conditions of your offers 
• You have an offer but want to change course or university

applying to UWS through Clearing

How do I apply to UWS through Clearing?  

1. Search our clearing course vacancies to see what is available 

2. Once you have all the results of your qualifications you can get in touch with our Clearing team to apply:

• Email us at clearing@uws.ac.uk
• Complete our UWS Clearing Form 

3. Our Clearing team may be able to make you a clearing offer. 

4.  You’ll have some time to consider your offer, and we’ll give you a deadline to apply via UCAS. 

5.  We’ll provide you with details on how to complete the UCAS process.

6.  Attend one of our Clearing Welcome Sessions on campus or online 

Where are you on your clearing journey?

If UWS is your firm choice

Keep up to date with your undergraduate application via the UCAS Hub. It will be updated when a decision has been made on your application.

If UWS is your insurance choice

1. Email us at clearing@uws.ac.uk to confirm we have a place for you
2. Log in to UCAS Hub and select decline my place
3. Check the UCAS Hub for an update on your application status
4. Once unconditional at UWS, you'll receive joining instructions by email

What to do if you did not get the results you needed

First, do not panic. There are options available.

• Check the UCAS Hub to see if the decision status has changed to unconditional. If it has, you will receive joining instructions via email
• If the decision status is still conditional, please email us at clearing@uws.ac.uk. Our admissions team will be working through applications as quickly as possible. Please check the UCAS Hub for updates
• If your application is unsuccessful as a result of not achieving the grades, you can explore Clearing options our website or via UCAS. There are also alternative routes into university, including HN study at college. Our Student Recruitment Team will be able offer advice on college articulation routes into UWS.
