WEST Scholarship Programme

At UWS, we believe financial restrictions should never be a barrier to accessing university and graduating with a degree. The WEST (Widening Education and Supporting Talent) Scholarship Programme aims to remove the financial barriers that stop our talented students from progressing throughout their degree to graduation.

You can use a WEST Scholarship in any way that enables you to sustain and complete your studies at UWS and benefit your university experience.

The Peter Coats Trust WEST Scholarships

We are delighted to offer up to an additional five WEST Scholarships for the 2024/25 academic year. These WEST Scholarships are kindly supported by The Peter Coats Trust.

These WEST Scholarships are available to UWS Undergraduate students (Year 3 or Year 4), and Postgraduate students.
Applicants must have a long-term connection to the Paisley and/or Renfrewshire area, and have a permanent home address in a PA1 to PA5 postcode.

A long-term connection may mean that you have attended secondary school in this area; have lived there for a significant period prior to your UWS studies, or something similar. You can provide details on your long-term connection to the area in your application.
