Clearing can be a stressful time for students. To help, we’ve pulled together some information and practical tips for supporting them through the process.
about Clearing
Clearing is an opportunity for students to secure a place at university if:
- they did not meet the entry requirements for their offer
- have not received any offers
- changed their mind about where they want to go
- are applying after 30 June
Clearing opened on 2 July 2026 and closes on 19 October 2026, with last date for applications on 24 September.
Applying through Clearing
Students can contact our Clearing team by email at clearing@uws.ac.uk or complete our UWS Clearing Form.. They will be able to advise students of the best options and how to apply. Students need to have their UCAS ID Number (if relevant) and their Clearing number on hand.

Be prepared
Having everything on hand on the day will help to make the process smoother. Remember to include grades, personal details, and a notepad for any questions. We’ve pulled together a handy checklist for Clearing to help make sure everyone is prepared.
Visit
Open Days are a great opportunity to find out what life at the university is like. They offer the chance to meet the team and fellow students. Campus tours are a great alternative when you are unable to make it to an Open Day.
Stay positive
Remind them that it's okay to take some time to work it all out and that there are options available.
