UWS Education programmes
We offer the following undergraduate programmes in Education:
Practical teaching experience
As well as practical placements, you’ll complete a research project in an area linked to your career goals. Programmes lead to qualified teacher status and guarantee you an induction place in a Scottish school following graduation – allowing you to continue honing your teaching skills while working in the classroom.
This real-life experience provides the perfect springboards to launch your career in the dynamic media and creative industries. National broadcasters, such as the BBC, and a range of national and international media companies have employed UWS graduates and our students regularly win BAFTA, RTS and music industry awards.
Research with real-world impact
UWS academics have a reputation for cutting-edge research and curriculum development in the education sector.
UWS’s research on the provision of Holocaust education in schools has shaped United Nations’ programmes and influenced teaching approaches in Scotland and internationally. It also launched the Vision Schools Scotland partnership between UWS and the Holocaust Educational Trust, which aims to develop best practice in Holocaust education.
