But before you panic-search "gap year ideas," take a breath.
While the "official" deadline gets all the hype, UWS is still open for applications.
Maybe you needed more time to think, maybe you switched up your dream career, or maybe you just realised uni is the move for you. Whatever the reason, it is not too late for September 2026.

How to apply late (without the stress)
Ready to lock in your future? Here is the cheat sheet:
If you haven’t applied for 2026 yet: You can start a brand new application on UCAS right now. Easy.
If you already applied: Used your five choices but haven’t accepted any offers? Or didn't use all five slots? You can still add UWS via UCAS.

Applying late doesn't mean you have to apply messy. Here is how to do it right:
Quality > speed: don't panic-write your Personal Statement just to hit send. Admissions selectors still want to see your passion and potential. Triple check it all and make sure it sounds like you.

Don’t rely on AI: we know ChatGPT is right there. Use it to brainstorm ideas, or check your grammar. But PLEASE don’t ask it to write your personal statement for you. Admissions selectors have a sixth sense for “bot voice” – they’ll be able to suss it out. We want to know who you are, not what an algorithm thinks a student sounds like. Keep it human.
