We foster a culture of entrepreneurship among our students, staff and researchers and actively encourage them to pursue ideas and set up their own business.

We also work with a range of businesses – from start-ups to multi-nationals – to support the commercialisation of academic research.

We also provide funding and support on business planning, starting a business, marketing and finance, working with organisations including Scottish Edge, Scottish Institute for enterprise, Business Gateway and Enterprise Campus.

Licensing opportunities 

UWS promotes technology transfer by licensing our expertise and patents to businesses in a wide range of industries and sectors.

We have extensive, industry-leading research and expertise that is readily-available for companies to license.

Support for entrepreneurs

We champion entrepreneurship and have supported countless academics, students and graduates to take the first steps into establishing their own business.

We're also happy to work with entrepreneurs with no current association with UWS to fulfil their business ambitions.
