Tuition Fees Payment Plans
In some cases, students who are self-financing, i.e. paying their own tuition, can do this through a payment plan, rather than paying in one lump sum. Whether or not we can offer you a payment plan, and what that payment plan might be, can depend on where you are studying, the type of student you are, and when your studies begin.
If you are paying your own tuition fees through a payment plan, it is important to remember that UWS is extending a credit facility by allowing you pay these in instalments rather than in one lump sum.
If you do not adhere to your payment plan, also known as defaulting on your payments, or non-payment, you can find out more about the action that may be taken by the University in the Tuition Fees - Your Responsibility & Our Options webpage.

Tuition Fee Deposits
International and EU students (without pre-settled status)*, who are not studying via distance learning delivery, are required to pay a deposit.
The deposit payment will secure your place on your chosen programme and enables the university to issue your CAS to allow you to apply for your visa to study at UWS.
As soon as you receive an unconditional offer, you can pay your deposit, which can be paid online or by bank transfer.
Details of tuition fee deposits are shown in the International (including EU)* section of Payment Plans, below.
* does not include students from the Republic of Ireland.
Payment Plans
These are available for self-funded students to help spread the cost of your tuition fees. There are different arrangements available depending upon your tuition fee status:
Please note that when you are setting up a payment plan, you own bank may apply charges for this and for each transaction. It is your responsibility to cover these local charges yourself as they are not part of your tuition fees.

The payment plans detailed above are not applicable where a company sponsor is paying your tuition fees, and separate terms and conditions will apply to your company sponsor.
It is important to note though, that even though you are not paying for your tuition yourself, you are still responsible for ensuring that these are paid to the University in full and on time.
Company Sponsorship
If your tuition fees are being paid by someone other than yourself (or your family), then you are classed as a sponsored student.
Your sponsor may be a:

- Foundation
- Not-for-profit organisation
- Overseas institution
Sponsors can pay all or part of your tuition fees and any additional costs on your behalf.
However, it is important to remember that the University's relationship is always with you (the student) as the recipient of tuition.
If a sponsor fails to pay all or part of the fee, regardless of any agreement they have with a student, the student will remain liable for any outstanding costs.
Company Sponsorship Form
If your tuition fees are being paid on your behalf by a sponsor, you need to submit a Sponsorship Form confirming the details for your arrangement, and ensuring the University has the information needed to invoice your sponsor.
Sponsored Student Form (.docx)
