Dr Katie McQuade
Dr. Katie Mcquade is a lecturer and researcher in leadership with extensive experience in higher education, research supervision, and academic publishing.
She holds a PhD in Leadership from the University of the West of Scotland, an MBA from the University of the West of Scotland, a Postgraduate Diploma from the University of Stirling, and a BA (Hons) in Politics from the University of Glasgow. She is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA) and a Chartered Manager of Business Education (CMBE).
Her teaching and research focus on leadership theory, organisational behaviour, strategic management, and human resource management. She has supervised doctoral, master's, and undergraduate research across a broad range of leadership and management topics and has extensive experience in research methods and qualitative inquiry.
Her research explores contemporary leadership, including servant leadership, leadership skills, toxic and dark leadership, and the relationship between leadership and organisational performance. Her work has examined leadership within small and medium-sized enterprises and the influence of political leadership on organisations and society.
She has published on leadership theory, including work examining Volodymyr Zelensky through the lens of Great Man Theory, and is currently developing research on dark leadership and the institutionalisation of toxic leadership.
Dr. Katie Mcquade serves as a peer reviewer for several international academic journals, including the Baltic Journal of Management, European Business Review, Human Resource Management, Springer Nature, International Journal of Contemporary Education and Research, and Emerald Publishing journals. She has also reviewed book proposals for Palgrave Macmillan.
Dr Mcquade's work combines rigorous academic scholarship with practical relevance, contributing to debates on leadership practice, organisational effectiveness, and management education.
