Matthew Lamb

Dr Matt Lamb is an events and tourism specialist with a keen interest in research focused on customer experience in events. Being the founder of eventos | Experience Architects, his career has focused on understanding how events shape people, places and communities.

Holding a PhD from Leeds Beckett University, Matt’s work explores the experience and impact of events beyond what happens on the stage. His approach has taken him around the world, experiencing events first-hand and examining how culture, people, place and  experience come together. This journey became the foundation for his writing, including 'Around the World in 80 Events'.

Alongside his academic work, Matt has built a successful career across the events industry, specialising in customer experience and community engagement. He founded eventos to bring these two areas together - challenging event organisers to think differently  about the experience they create. Not for opportunities for the event but the people attending.

Today, Matt works with global events, venues, local authorities and organisations to transform experience through research but a keen interest in observation and engagement. His work is driven by a simple belief: amazing events should leave a positive impact  on the people who experience them and the places that host them.
