About the role
Student Ambassadors work with the University’s UK student recruitment and marketing teams to promote UWS to prospective students and stakeholders.
There are a range of activities and opportunities available to student ambassadors such as:
- Supporting our large on-campus events like open days and offer holder sessions
- Helping at smaller events such as school/college class visits or meeting with external stakeholders
- Leading tours of our 4 Scottish campuses
- Chatting to prospective students and answering questions about applying and student life
- Becoming one of the faces of UWS
- Participating in student-led Q&A sessions
- Getting involved in social media content creation
Who can become a Student Ambassador?
We are looking for positive, enthusiastic students who like to meet new people and chat about their experience as a UWS applicant and student.
You should have strong communication skills and ideally some experience in either a customer service or public facing role, although this is not required and full training will be provided.
To apply, you must be fully enrolled on an undergraduate or postgraduate programme (at any level) at UWS, and based at either Ayr, Dumfries, Lanarkshire or Paisley campus.
Applications from a variety of backgrounds are encouraged and welcomed.
Applicants must have at least 6 months remaining on their course at UWS.

The details
Your hours with us are flexible. You can arrange your schedule around your academic commitments with no pre-determined hours per week.
Hours offered depend on the events we hold throughout the year – we have several busy periods where significant support is required and therefore more hours are available.
Although this position does not guarantee a consistently high income, it can supplement other sources of income and can also provide you with a variety of experiences and opportunities.
