Writing Feedback
Studiosity allows you to upload a draft of your written assessment for review by a Studiosity specialist who will then offer feedback explaining how your writing can be improved.
This support is available to students 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.
There are two ways in which you can engage with the Studiosity service:
Writing Feedback
With Studiosity’s Writing Feedback service, you can submit a draft of your written work (up to 5500 words) and you will receive feedback, usually within 24 hours, on spelling and grammar, structure, choice of language, and use of sources.
Connect Live
Connect Live allows you to speak to a Studiosity specialist, online, anytime, for help with topics such as academic writing and numeracy. You can also use the service to ask follow-up questions on writing feedback.
Additional notes:
- Each student has a limited number of submissions - we recommend submitting complete or near to complete drafts
- The word count limit for uploads is 5500 words
- It is not a marking or proof-reading service
- It does not provide subject specific feedback
- It does not check for plagiarism
- It does not provide guidance on specific referencing styles such as Cite Them Right Harvard

Searching for your own funds
It is important to understand that searching for additional financial support can take up a lot of your time. While there's no guarantee of finding a funding source that suits your requirements, we'd encourage you to give it a go. You will not find anything if you do not try.
This type of funding can vary from small amounts, such as £200, to larger amounts that might cover your full tuition fee for a year. Most students who achieve success with these types of funds do so because they continually research and apply to everything they can. Numerous grants of £200 can really add up.
Most of these funds are competitive, and attract many applicants, but there may only be one award available, so it’s not dissimilar to applying for a job.
It's therefore important to spend time to carefully follow the guidance notes when completing your application, and think about how you can make your application stand out from the crowd.
The Alternative Guide to Postgraduate Funding
The Alternative Guide to Postgraduate Funding is a web resource that UWS subscribe to, making it free for our students and prospective students to use. It includes a funding database of over 600 charities and trusts, and access comprehensive guidance on how to produce a high-quality application.
- Accessing this guide from a campus PC? You can automatically log in without creating an account.
- Already have a UWS email account? You can create an account in less than 30 seconds.
- Are you a prospective student? We understand you won’t be able to access our campus PCs nor will you have a UWS email address. Simply email the Funding and Advice Team at , and we will send you a PIN to access this resource.
SAAS
SAAS maintain a register of educational endowments, which is just another way of saying they have a list of possible trust funds or scholarships that you may wish to investigate. Some of the schemes they have on their list include eligibility criteria, links to websites or email addresses of the organisation. Others may require you to write away for more information.
You can view the list on the SAAS website.
The Scholarship Hub
You can use The Scholarship Hub to search for UK scholarships, grants or bursaries, as well as find information on how to apply for these opportunities. You should check the website regularly as opportunities can open up throughout the year.
Prospects
Prospects is a useful website offering lots of information about postgraduate study and job advice with specific information on postgraduate study funding.
Scholarship Search
You can use Scholarship Search to look for funds by organisation, subject area or level of study.
Uni Grants
You can use Uni Grants to search for funds by organisation, subject area or level of study.
